Twas' the night before Christmas...

Tonight Kyle and I got to experience our first Christmas Eve service :) We are spending Christmas this year in Ellensburg, Washington and since we won't be visiting with my Dad or with Kyle's grandparents this evening, like tradition holds, we were able to go to our church's candlelit service. While I was sitting in my chair singing along with the Christmas Carols I thought to myself, "This church is so beautiful! But the songs are only so-so". And I felt a still small voice from the Lord ask me, "What do you look for in a church? To be entertained or to experience the presence of God?" I then spent two pages in my journal taking notes and scribbling thoughts the Lord inspired my heart to write down. Because He was right, I go to church to experience the presence of the Lord :)

A few weeks ago I was studying the different names used to reference Jesus. I figured if I am familiar with His names then I will better understand what He offers us as believers. I read Isaiah 9:6-7 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

"Prince" here means: ruler, commander, official....and
"Peace" means: safety, prosperity, well-being

Peace can have a focus of security, safety which can bring feelings of satisfaction, well-being and contentment.

If you are feeling uneasy, dissatisfied, fearful of the future or just apathetic talk to Jesus. He brings peace. Sit down, open your bible and read Psalms :) Let Jesus be kind to you. He WANTS to be kind to you :)
