It feels like we are playing our own game of "Where in the World is Carmen Santiago?" Only it's more like "Where in Ohio are the McAllisters?"
As of right now we are still waiting to have the appraisal done on our soon-to-be house. The seller was gracious enough to let us move our stuff into the house already since our apartment lease ends July 31st and there is no way we will be closing by then. So our things are nestled quite nicely into 2 of the bedrooms in our house and we are staying with my (Britt's) mom in Springfield. Technically we have moved 30 minutes closer to Athens.
Could we call this progress?
Could we call this progress?
We are also seeing progress in the budget. Our weekly goal is $125 in new monthly support. For July we started right out of the gate with $155 in new support the first week!! Woo Hoo! Second week was $100...not as much but averaged with the first week we were still on track. Woo Hoo! 3rd and 4th week were big ol' goose eggs: $0 in new monthly support. We had $90 in new monthly support come in last week with a total of $345 for the month. Sounds great until you hear our monthly goal is $600 :/ Eek! Our budget is now 75% complete.
We are still going strong!!! We are still fighting to get this thing done THIS fall!!!
Kyle is aiming to make 72 calls a week (He's a beast!) and we are making visits to churches we can't get a hold of in hopes to reach them face-to-face. We are making the most of every contact we have been given and are unashamedly trying to raise this budget so we can start impacting the 21,000 students that attend Ohio University.
Just this weekend we talked with a minister in Athens who had an information table set up at orientation this year and they took down a list of names of students who specifically said they wanted to be a part of a Chi Alpha and/or are looking for an AG ministry on campus!!! They are looking for Chi Alpha!!! It floods our hearts with a desire to start RIGHT NOW.
Please pray that we get the appraisal on our house NOW.
Please pray for our budget to be finished NOW.
Please pray for our future students NOW.
Thanks Everyone! We could not do this without your help.
