The Next Step

Dear Friends and Family,

It's quite possible that by the time you read this post it will have been 200 days since we left to begin our adventure here in Mexico. From our end, time has seemed to just fly by! We have less than 4 months to make and develop friendships, less than 4 months to eat as much Mexican food as possible, and less than 4 months to make sure Punto de Encuentro is as healthy as we can possibly make it before we leave. We truly are seeing progress and have exciting plans for the next two months or so. Of which, those plans include a BBQ this Friday and a retreat next month where we'll have training and team building and all kinds of fun stuff to draw our students closer together :)
However, from the beginning, we knew that Mexico was only the first step in a career of ministry. As most of you will hopefully remember, the next leg of our journey includes a CMIT internship (Campus Missionary In Training) during which we'll learn the skills we need to be successful in Campus Ministry. So to prepare for that we were required to fill out an 18-page application, provide references, attend a week-long conference at the beginning of the summer, and take several college-level courses.
Now, after all of that, we've received news. We are pleased to announce that we have been accepted to our first choice Chi Alpha CMIT program at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington! Next year, we will be working under Chi Alpha/CMIT director Michael Mowry, learning how things are done on the West coast :) Brittany and I are so excited and are so happy to be able to share the good news with all of you.
Thank you so much to all of you who have believed in us and who continue to support us in our quest to reach the university campus with the love that Jesus has for every person. Now that we know a little bit more about what next year holds we will be able to plan accordingly as our time in Mexico starts to wind down.
Please pray that the Lord would be showing us what He has in mind for our last couple months and for the students we are training to lead. Also, between our time in Mexico and the next step of our CMIT in Washington, we will need to raise more monthly support. Please pray that we would find enough support to sustain a healthy life-style for a growing family.
That's all for this time, but I'd like to leave you all with some icons of our future campus:

Such a beautiful campus...notice the mountains in the distance! Eeeee!

Take care everyone,

~We love you
