As we've begun to evangelize the campuses, we are using a survey we had the privilege of being introduced to by the Chi Alpha crew at Murray State University in Kentucky. We've had some really good conversations with the university students ending in entire gospel presentations, praying with students, invitations to our bible study, and contact information being exchanged.
I know that as we continue to do this direct form of witnessing that we will find students that are ready to receive the gospel as truth and will be transformed as Jesus enters their life.
In more humbling news, we got a BIG surprise last week when we came back from our time at CUCS (the medical campus)...Our car was gone!!! We immediately knew what had happened, because not only was our car gone, but so was every other car that was parked around this particular tree planter. We had been towed! We had seen people park there for months and had parked there ourselves many times before. However, now we know that this curb is OFF LIMITS! But that still left us without a car. With the help of a Mexican friend, we found out where we could go to get our car back.
The next day we went to the Mexican equivalent of the "Department of Motor Vehicles." We showed up just before they opened, but 9 hours and over $100 later we got our car back from what I can barely describe as an impound lot. See it for yourself:
We were glad to have our car back, but after such an ordeal you can definitely say that we learned our lesson!
I would just like to add that at no point did we feel cheated or like we were being treated unfairly. We recognize that we chose to park on a yellow curb and gladly paid the price for our poor judgment. As in anything, when you choose to break the law, you are also choosing to step out from under God's covering. The fine print of that contract, however, is agreeing to whatever consequences from that choice.
Hopefully our little misadventure can encourage you to view the law in a new way and can help you to have a good attitude if something like this ends up being your predicament. Let's just hope that isn't the case!
Thank you so much for your prayers! I am seeing God's favor more than I think I have ever seen it before and it is making all the difference. Please be encouraged to hear that we are seeing a difference in this ministry that makes me so excited to see what's next.
Until next time, know that:
We Love You
Wow! What a bummer! But when we pass a test, we often don't have to take it again. And it sounds like you had a great attitude!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all is well now! Still anxious to hear about your interview with Washington.
